IHN

by Silver Bullet last modified 2007-01-14 15:53

IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) is the local charity we support.

Each quarter we prepare self-sufficiency packets for IHN to distribute to families in need. This is an on-going effort that we take great pride in.

Click here for a description and background of IHN.

When families move into the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Denver they develop a "self-sufficiency plan" with their case manager. These plans are structured to help the family be able to successfully secure housing, improve their financial situation, etc. within 30-90 days. The guest families will find the items in a "self-sufficiency packet" useful as they start working on reaching the goals they establish with the case manager. In addition to these items, IHN provides the families with information about the IHN program, referrals to useful agencies, important numbers and other information they will find useful.

IHN of Greater Denver serves approximately 80 families each year, 5-8 packets need to be on hand each month so that each family who moves in has it available right away. A group can make this an on-going project or do all of the packets at once.
